This Privacy Policy explains how Caffeine Tracker (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use: (a) the Caffeine Tracker Garmin Connect IQ app (“App”), and (b) our website/landing page (“Website”).

What data the App processes

The App is designed to work primarily offline on your watch. Your caffeine entries and settings are stored locally on the device (and may be synced by Garmin according to your Garmin account and device settings).

We do not directly receive your health data. We do not run our own analytics in the App and we do not collect personal data from the App servers-side.

What data the Website / purchase flow processes

When you buy an unlock, you are redirected to Stripe Checkout / Stripe Payment Link.

We process the following information to fulfill your purchase:

  • Email address (to deliver your unlock code and purchase-related communication)
  • App Code you provide during checkout (used to generate/assign your unlock code)
  • Payment status and transaction identifiers (to confirm payment and handle support/refunds)

Stripe processes your payment card details. We do not see or store your full card information.

How we use your information

  • To deliver the unlock code you purchased
  • To provide customer support (e.g., resend unlock code, fix wrong App Code)
  • To comply with legal obligations (accounting, tax, fraud prevention)

Marketing communications

We may send occasional product updates, tips, or promotional messages only if you explicitly opt in during checkout or via another clear consent mechanism.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting us.

Legal basis (EU/EEA)

  • Contract performance — to fulfill your purchase (deliver the unlock code)
  • Legal obligation — accounting/tax compliance
  • Legitimate interests — basic fraud prevention and customer support
  • Consent — for optional marketing and product update emails

Data sharing

We share data only with service providers needed to run the product:

  • Stripe — payment processing and checkout
  • Email delivery provider (if used) — to send unlock codes and support emails
  • Hosting/DNS (e.g., GitHub Pages, Cloudflare) — to serve the Website

We do not sell your personal data.

Data retention

  • App Code + email + purchase record: retained as long as needed to deliver the unlock, provide support, and meet accounting/legal requirements.
  • If you request deletion, we can delete support records where legally possible, but we may need to keep invoices/transaction records for legal compliance.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect information (e.g., Stripe for payments; webhook signature verification; access controls). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Your rights

If you are in the EU/EEA (including Czech Republic), you generally have rights to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion (where applicable)
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Data portability
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

Children

The Website and purchase flow are not intended for children. If you believe a child provided personal data, contact us to remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will reflect changes.
